YORK White Rose Ladies League division one leaders Fulfordgate consolidated their position with a 5-2 result at Crescent in which Beryl Glover celebrated her 65th birthday by scoring a maximum.

Only Carol Quantock registered for Six Bells against Tap, while Sun, struggling to contain Winning Post, had Sue Scrimshaw levelling at 3-3 and Ann Franks clinching the decider.

Maggie Adamson added to Coach's score with 23 darts but Bumper had Catherine Gascoyne lined up to seal the decider. Similarly Lord Collingwood's Jackie Ritchie made it 4-3 after Deramore's Julie Arthur put the score at 3-3 with 24 darts.

Janice Turton then Margaret Clapham took the last two to give Huntington Sports a 4-3 win over Fulford Conser-vatives, while Cheryle Fernandiz was Clarence's 4-3 winner at Bowling Club.

Tramways were on track for a comprehensive victory against King William but Pat Dickinson, Val Bell then Irish Haigh decided otherwise.

Kath Cooper was Nag's Head only success at Brown Cow, while it was nip and tuck for Alice Hawthorn at Tankard only for Debbie Horner to produce the match winner.

Bay Horse 'A' consolidated their York Atlas Auto Services League division one lead with an emphatic 8-1 success over Bishopthorpe SC, whose point came from Eric Sleightholme.

Bay had the Paul Cooper-Kev O'Hara pairing to thank for an exceptional 19-dart 701.

From 4-2 down to Clifton 'A', Volunteer rallied to win. Paul Dixon and Darren Gray scored well to clinch the extra point. A superb 16-darter from Mick Nixon and a fine 18 darts from Dean Saxton inspired Tap to a 7-2 win at Huntington.

Cygnet's 7-2 at Slipper included good performances from John Miller (21), Tony Noble (21) and John Clemit (18). Anita Adams was Slipper's best.

Division two leaders Six Bells had Phil Richards-John Quantock as match winners against Leeman, Quantock gaming on a 94.

Meanwhile, Chris Downing was best for Burton 'A', who were narrowly beaten by Crescent 'B'.

Crescent 'A' recorded a 6-3 win over Clifton 'C', while Ebor won at Woolpack where within the singles only Dave Cormack replied.

Dave Tatterton-Eric Jennings were Howden's 5-4 winners at Fulford Arms and good scores from Andy Edkins secured the aggregate.

Top division three team Hospital Social Club lost to Puss 'n Boots, whose Karl Masiak-Mark Thornton clinched the win. Thornton (20) spearheaded the Puss attack and was well backed by Chris Manners.

Bay Horse 'B' took all the pairs to record a 5-4 victory over Burton 'B', while Yearsley beat Mount 5-4.

Shepherd 'B' increased their lead to seven points in York John Smith's Men's League division two by beating closest rivals Flag 5-4.

John Dykes gamed in 19 darts, while Flag had a fine 127 finish on bullseye from Dave Dobson.

And third-placed Saddle slipped up when losing 5-4 to Vaults. Chris Rowe won in 21 darts but Vaults had a 19-dart opener from Phil Smith, who combined with Garry Strider to get the decider.

Paul Bartnett gamed in 18 and Brian Harden-Jamie Byworth snatched Lighthorseman a 5-4 win against Swan. Pete Langan set Dringhouses off with 20 darts but Cygnet 'A' strode to a 6-3 scoreline.

Nick Scott put Osbaldwick on the sheet with an excellent 102 out-shot for 21 darts but Tony Gregory immediately wiped that out with 19 darts and Sun went on to win 6-3.

Glenn Waterworth (21) and Glyn Jefferey (20) aided Bootham Tavern's 5-4 at Green Tree, who had an 118 finish from Stan Jackson.

Division one leaders Shepherd 'A' had to overcome 19 darts from Holgate's Mick Brookes. Maximums from Mark Jones, then Kev Walton (21), plus 21 darts from Dave Gibbons, helped them to a 6-3 win.

Ken Wallace included a 180 score, Kelvin Frankel checked 108, Ron Simpson threw a 20-darter and Ken Rowntree a 99 finish, but Trafalgar went down 6-3 to big-scoring Poacher. Ray McInally shot a splendid 17 darts and Gary Kynman gamed in 21.

York Phoenix League leaders Slipper dominated Bishopthorpe SC with an abundance of ton-plus scores.

Tony Raymond took Bishopthorpe's only point. Slipper had Steve Reynolds in splendid 19-dart form and was well backed by Russ Turpin, who closed in 114 for 18 darts.

Despite a tremendous 13-darter from Dean Saxton and a superb 16-darter from John Smith, Tap went down 4-3 to Lord Nelson, whose John Spence starred.

Phoenix rose from 3-1 down to take the last three matches and beat Lord Collingwood. Sean Robinson led the charge and was well supported by Phil Chapman, who notched a maximum.

A 20-darter and 180 from Mike Harris clinched victory for Acomb SC against Red Lion, whose Henry Haystead played well.
