TANG Hall Spartans' John McClure put last week's bottom placing behind him to win the York CIU League ten-kilometre race walk at South Bank.
Breaking in a new pair of shoes, McClure clocked 71 minutes and two seconds over the three laps, being lapped by Huntington All-Star Graham Jackson (49-28), who took second place.
Paul Morgan's 62-31 third place gave the Huntington squad maximum points.
Fulfordgate remain favourites for the title but the second and third places are up for grabs and will be decided in the final league race at British Sugar on Thursday, July 4.
Another race at that venue will be the long-established Steve Kellett Memorial Walk on Sunday, July 7.
