DANIEL Sheath went to Hull and back - and raised £225 for the RSPCA.
The 13-year-old from Alne, near Easingwold, organised his own sponsored bike ride along a Sustrans route from York to Hull via Pocklington and Beverley, and then back via the Humber, Selby and the Selby-York cycle track.
His father, Graham, said a teacher at Easingwold School had taken part in the London Marathon, told Daniel and other pupils about it, and suggested they too took part in their own sponsored event.
A couple of years ago, the family had taken in a dog called Bonnie from the RSPCA's York animal home and so Daniel had decided to organise a sponsored bike ride over a long weekend to raise funds for the charity.
