Nestl's Kerry Rafton and Clive Christison attained the perfect scoreline, winning all 36 games played as their side beat Strensall in the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League.

The 81-27 victory, plus the win over Sutton on Derwent, who conceded, saw Nestl take the lead in division ten.

Civil Service earned their points in division one with a 71-37 win against bottom club Stillington and with a hard-fought draw against Fulford seconds in which the final rubber decided the outcome.

Fulford firsts exchanged places with Dunnington after beating them 59-49 thanks to Julie Reilly and Neil Haw winning 27 games.

The top two teams in division two met at Wigginton and the home side took the win against York seconds, 68-40, to take over top spot again.

Wigginton's Sue Espiner and Oliver Gardiner turned in a match-winning performance taking all three rubbers with 28 games.

The bottom two clubs met with Civil Service taking the win as Sherburn had only two couples.

Division three has split into two with four teams in each half fighting either for promotion or against relegation.

York have joined the promotion race after a 68-40 win against Riccall despite the best efforts of Riccall's Michelle Hall and Rex Pocklington.

The clash of the two unbeaten teams in division four saw Wheldrake lose 58-50 to visitors Dunnington in a closely contested fixture. It was Wheldrake's first loss for a number of seasons.

Linda Molloy and Phil Spencer were Dunnington's best pair although Wheldrake's Helen Roe and Mark Bland were unbeaten.

Sutton on Derwent and Fulford in division five are another two teams to swap places at the top, after Sutton won their clash 60-48.

Copmanthorpe have taken third place after a solid 68-40 win against Stillington with their first couple of Karen Hornby and Graeme Butcher again leading by example with an unbeaten 28 games.

Heworth met Fulford in division six and took the points with a 67-41 scoreline to take over top spot from their visitors.

Wigginton stay in the promotion hunt just two points behind the leaders after they beating Appleton Roebuck 69-39 with all three couples winning their three rubbers.

Cawood's win at Rowntree Park condemned Park to bottom spot in a 57-51 result. Cawood's Lorraine Bishop and David Welsh won their final rubber 11-1 to seal the victory.

Bishopthorpe pegged back the challenge of Rufforth for one of the promotion places in division seven after they won 56-52 at Rufforth in a match containing three 11-1 scores.

Jane Parkin and David Moore were Bishops' best pair just ahead of Chris Smith and Alan Yoward.

Zoe Manton and Jimmy Carter led Civil Service to the points against Tollerton to remain unbeaten in a close match.

In division eight, Tadcaster fielded their first choice second team for the first time this year and reaped the benefits with a 58-50 win against a strong Bubwith side headed by Debbie Rutherford and Richard Middleton, who won all three sets.

Bubwith bounced back and won against Wilberfoss 72-36 in another good team performance.

Dunnington have closed the division up with wins over Riccall, 61-47, and Strensall, 60-48, to move away from the bottom.

Only two points separate the top four teams in division nine as none of the top three sent a match score in. Cawood stay fourth after they lost to Appleton Roebuck.

Tollerton remain last despite a 56-52 win against Wigginton, top scorers Ed Hops and Chris Hughes vitally winning their second rubber 11-1.
