A new girls' section has been officially welcomed on board by New Earswick Eagles Junior FC.
The club's annual general meeting also saw the reinstate-ment as chairman of Martin Dawson, who will reorganise and improve the club and aim for the Charter Standards Award.
Barbera Owen, along with Martin Ranson, ran the girls' under 12s and under 16s last season with fine results, the U12s being league champions.
The boys teams also faired well with the under 16s landing the FA and league cups while the under 13s reached the semi-finals of the league cup.
In July the Eagles will officially become a feeder club for York City and are to improve facilities to help introduce new teams.
The club, who need volunteers/ managers/coaches as well as players (aged eight to 16), are holding an open evening at New Earswick sports club on July 22 at 7pm.
Anyone interested should go to the club, White Rose Avenue, or contact Janice on 01904 767290.
