Team Dynamics Pro Rally Toyota duo Jonny Milner and Nicky Beech were in a class of their own to win the Tyneside Stages Rally by a whopping four minutes and 20 seconds margin.

The Pirelli British Rally Championship leaders were using the event as a tarmac test for their Toyota Corolla WRC ahead of the forthcoming Jim Clark Rally, the next round of the PBRC. Based on the fearsome tarmac roads of the Otterburn Military ranges near Newcastle Upon Tyne, the 80 stage miles on offer were the perfect testing ground for ex-Stamford Bridge ace Milner and Beech.

With car set-up and not victory the principle aim of the day, Milner, now based at Driffield, made a number of adjustments to the Pirelli-shod Corolla WRC, concentrating on ride height and suspension settings.

Said Milner: "The car performed exceptionally well all day and Nicky and I were very pleased to have won the rally by such a margin."

Milner and Beech have contested six rallies this year, winning five of them.
