Batting first at Mille Crux, Carlton Towers lost three wickets for 15 in the first ten overs.

But the attack of hosts Rowntrees was exposed as Kevin Waites (76) and Martin Denby (59) added 136 for the fourth wicket. Carlton finished on 203-7 despite Dominic Atkinson bowling well for 3-56.

The home side laboured and it was left to number three Andy Main to resist for 43 overs to earn a division five draw.

Selby's Colin Banks had a remarkable return of three wickets for no runs as visiting Bolton Percy were all out for 74.

Selby lost five wickets before emerging as victors with Danny White taking 3-25 for Bolton.

Sessay mounted a tremendous response to a Malton total of 238-6 before narrowly failing to gain their first win of the season, the game ending in a draw with Sessay standing at 227-8. Jonathan Dunning top scored for Malton with 83, while Lester Parkin added 39 and Chris Smith 27 before David Bradshaw took his side way past the 200 mark with an unbeaten 50.

The home side made a fine effort at run chasing with Keith Till hitting 72 and Stuart Robinson 41. However, Phil Dodsworth took 3-46 to just keep Malton's nose out in front.

Thorp Arch's Mark Warrilow hit 112 and Andy Hawkswell 61 as their side overcame the threat of Dave Harker (5-32) to reach a massive 270-8 at Thirsk.

The hosts also hit runs freely and reached 203-8 through Jim Mc-Kendrie (46), Oliver Grant (35) and Mal Harper (30), while Mike Cole took 4-36 for leaders TABS.
