ANDY Turnell and Fergal Lynch, the trainer and jockey, who combined forces with fourth-placed Jelani in the Vodafone Derby earlier this month, go in search of smaller fry at Beverley tomorrow.

The pair, both in excellent individual form, will be represented by Noble Pasoa in the £10,000 Peter Jones 'Lifetime in Racing' Showcase Handicap, and the five-year-old is napped to take all the beating.

This race is the latest in an occasional series, founded by Middleham-based Raye Wilkinson of Racing Welfare, to honour stablemen who have worked a lifetime behind the scenes.

Jones, now 75 and retired, had largely been Beverley-based throughout his racing life, and spent a lengthy period working for the late Snowy Gray.

Noble Pasoa comes into tomorrow's race in good heart, having recently scored at Thirsk. And with Turnell's Highfield string firing on all cylinders at the moment, he must have a great chance of following-up in this ten furlongs event.

Kevin Darley, who completed a double at Royal Ascot on Saturday to take his score at the meeting to three winners, can make his mark at Beverley.

The Sheriff Hutton jockey teams-up with Haventadoubt in the Betfair.com Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes and Jonny Portman's juvenile, placed in both her races so far, has shown enough to suggest she can make it third-time-lucky here.

Muwassi looks the one to be on in the Beverley Racecourse Maiden Stakes.

Sir Michael Stoute's three-year-old showed bags of promise on his debut at Leicester to finish second to Last Master, beaten only a length. He showed a tendency to run green that day, but he should be wiser as a result and is now fancied to go one better. Richard Hills again has the mount.

Lone Piper has been running well enough of late to warrant consideration in the Racing Here Again on 5th July Apprentice Handicap.

The gelding, trained by Jedd O'Keefe at Middleham, does not win too often, but his recent placed form entitles him to plenty of respect in this modest company. Leanne Kershaw, who has ridden four winners to date, has the mount.

North Yorkshire trainer David Nicholls will be represented at Brighton, where Yarob bids for the Come to Family Day Sunday 7th July Claiming Stakes.

The nine-year-old returned to winning form at Ripon a couple of weeks ago and, although fast approaching the twilight of his career, remains a formidable opponent at this level.

Also worth noting at Brighton are the promising Omaimah (3-00) and the back-to-form Croeso Croeso (5-00).
