There was a sensational division two game at Wilberfoss where Tadcaster Magnet lost their unbeaten record after making a 40th-over declaration having set home team Wilberfoss a big target.

Runs flowed from Russ Parker (80), Mick Ransome (57) and Willie Walker (49) as Magnet piled up 252-7 before reserving an extra five overs to dismiss their opponents.

But Wilberfoss were unfazed by the enormity of their task and were given a great platform by Dave Gilbertson (42) and Ian Clish (51) as they reached 126-4.

Geoff Room and Mick Stothard then came together and knocked off the required runs without further ado as they shared an unbroken liaison of 127. Room was unbeaten with 55 with man of the match Stothard adding an unbeaten 82 to his bowling figures of 3-71.

Stamford Bridge failed to capitalise on Magnet's misjudgement when they were forced to hang in for a draw at Harrogate with their last pair at the crease.

Matthew Couzen celebrated his return from Bristol University by hitting an impressive 80 as Harrogate totalled 191-8. Stamford's Graham Tipping had good figures of 4-49 and Stuart Boyle bagged 3-52.

Boyle then had a rare failure with the bat and it was left to Pete Aconley (45) and Andy Milner (36) to counter the efforts of Marcus Fox (3-52), Mick Coates (3-37) and Peter Kippax (3-34) to reduce Stamford to 175-9.

Two lowly teams met at Clifton Alliance where Bridlington topped 300 before becoming one of four teams in the division to declare.

Free-scoring Hafeez Khaled hit 11 fours and as many sixes as he raced to an unbeaten 149 off only 112 balls. He shared a second-wicket partnership of 167 with Wayne Oliphant, who made 86 as Bridlington closed on 302-3 in 40 overs.

Clifton's successful resistance then came from Nathan Briggs (29), Paul Atkinson (26) and John Bladen (38), who helped their side navigate through the extended 50 overs to safety at 179-7.

South African Doug Briebenhouw played one of the classiest innings ever seen on the Bubwith ground when he made 104 for Hornsea.

Richard Webster gave superb backing in making 85 and, with Paul Clappison adding 33, Hornsea were able to declare on 259-4 after 39 overs.

When Bubwith replied, Edward Smith struck nine boundaries in his 42 and Neil Readman made 27 but a devastating 9.1-over spell by John Lewis brought him 6-22 to polish Bubwith off for 105.

Malton's Ben Nicholson was another overseas player to reach the three-figure mark when he made an unbeaten 128 against bottom-placed Castleford.

With Neil Johnson making 36 and brother Greg 54, Malton moved to 234-2 before declaring after 37 overs to leave their opponents with a long haul to safety off 53 overs.

Mark Yates (5-59) made life difficult for the Cas batsmen but he lacked penetrative support and Cas reached a fairly comfortable draw at 154-7 through Peter Hadfield (42) and CYoung (43no).

Paul Scatchard hit 52 when Studley Royal batted first against Scarborough at North Marine Road. But Paul Beard took 6-49 as the visitors were bowled out for 129.

James Bryan (3-31) and Mark Peacock (3-18) did their best to retrieve the situation but Kev Theobold's 24 eased Scarborough home.
