HISTORY was created for the first time at Forest of Galtres GC where both the men's captain and lady captain's day events were held simultaneously.
The men's winner was Mike Ward, a previous captain in 1996, on count-back from Phil Young. The 15-handicapper, who is the club's York Union representative, is a previous winner after prevailing in the club's inaugural captain's day competition.
Anne Quarmby won the women's event from Angela Darlington with Jean Barber in third place.
