Both North Yorkshire golfers Simon Dyson and Neil Cheetham rued the final hole in the second round of the Great North Open at the De Vere Slaley Hall circuit, near Hexham yesterday.
Malton and Norton's Dyson finished on 75, three over for the day, after dropping shots on the seventh, ninth and 18th holes. That left him on two over for the first two rounds.
Cheetham, the ex-Heworth professional also bogeyed the final hole to finish on 73, which, added to his first round 74, gave him a three-over tally at the halfway stage.
Both Dyson and Cheetham made the cut. Germany's Sven Struver shot a brilliant 65 yesterday to take a one stroke lead into today's third round.
