CONSERVATION work on the National Centre for Early Music has earned it another award.

The centre, which was converted from the old St Margaret's Church, off Walmgate, York, has received the Award For Conservation from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The award was announced last year, when the site was the only one in Yorkshire to receive it. The centre has now received a plaque from the president of the institute, Peter Faulkner.

He visited the centre to present the plaque, which will now be mounted on one of its outside walls.

The centre has previously received a conservation award from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
