Well done, lads

England ignored their favoured tournament exit by losing in normal time against Brazil today, rather than going out on penalties. But they return home in traditional fashion, as plucky losers.

We were beaten by the better team who produced two remarkable goals to better Michael Owen's own moment of genius.

But the England players should hold their heads high. Beset by injury and placed in the group of death, this team has surpassed expectations - and given the nation a huge lift. Well done, lads.
