WHAT an eventful weekend it has been again with England's win over Denmark, York Races and a motorcycle rally.
Members of the Institute's Golden Rail Brass Band, including myself, were each presented with a cup inscribed with the words Selby Motorcycle Rally 2002 when the band played in the same park used by the motorcyclists.
When our band broke off to enjoy a quick pint, we were told there had been a power cut while everyone was watching England v Denmark in their local.
But on reading the Sunday papers it appears that a bunch of sad Tories had spent the entire World Cup weekend digging up dirt about the Prime Minister. Funny old world!
