Dunnington won all nine rubbers as they beat Tyke Petroleum York Men's League division one bottom club Knaresborough 82-26.

Second-placed York came unstuck against Sutton, losing 50-58 with P Thomas and K Ridley scoring 23 games.

Bubwith owe their first points of the season to Shaun Pinchbeck and Doug Smith whose 29 games were crucial in the 59-49 victory against Riccall.

Division two leaders Wheldrake beat bottom side York II with all three couples contributing to their score of 70.

Strensall's Matt Ward and Jeremy Williams scored 25 out of 68 games against Appleton Roebuck whose Dave Bradley and Will Zieger were unbeaten on 20.

Copmanthorpe had to concede 24 games to Rowntree Park due to injuries to two pairs and consequently lost 80-23.

Wigginton II's position in division three was not helped by their 47-61 home defeat against Castlegarth. Wigginton had to concede 12 games after the late arrival of one pair.

Poppleton III conceded 36 games to top club Dunnington by playing only two pairs

There was relief at Cawood who clocked up their first points with a 59-49 win against Bishopthorpe as Derrick Andrews and Eddie Burton scored 24.

In division five, leaders Riccall II's Noel Shouksmith and Paul Bratley top scored with 24 in their 56-52 win at Boston Spa.

Riccall are being chased by Rufforth who recorded a 68-40 win against Sutton II Andy Ivel and David Laws yet again came top with 29 unbeaten.

Division six leaders Sheriff Hutton were rained off with a winning 55-26 margin against Wheldrake II while Dunnington III won 55-20 against Bishopthorpe II. The only completed match brought another victory for Cawood, 72-36 victors against struggling New Earswick II. Graham Bond and Dan Butts scored 26.
