ANOTHER ward at York District Hospital has been closed to new admissions because of the spread of a virus which causes vomiting and diarrhoea.
Fourteen staff are still off sick with the "Norwalk-type virus" and Ward 32, where six patients are ill with the virus, is still closed to new admissions.
Two more patients on the ward are also showing signs of the illness.
Ward 35, where two patients and one member of staff were showing symptoms, has also been closed to new admissions.
Ward 32 was closed on Friday. Laboratory tests are being carried out to establish the exact nature of the virus.
