JORDAN Worabec won York and District Snooker Association's 25th monthly Heworth Minibuses-sponsored knockout handicap competition.
He beat Kevin Hopper in the final at the Cueball Club.
Worabec received a 28-point handicap start against Hopper and started brightly, potting a 25 break.
Hopper tried hard to counter but conceded the frame with six reds left after fouling on an attempted pot when 63-2 behind.
Hopper and Kevin Gall had made breaks of 24 and 21 respectively in the first round.
In the quarter-finals there were comfortable wins for Hopper and Worabec, while Phil Anderson, the association's chairman, and Kevin Gall won on the last few colours.
In the semi-finals, Hopper potted the last pink to beat Gall 65-46 and Worbaced defeated Anderson 54-21.
Mark Dodds won the free 'plate' knockout competition for players who lost in the first round of the main competition. He beat Steve Gregson 53-47.
Dodds built a lead of 35 but then Gregson hit back to level the frame going on to the colours.
He missed what would have been a frame-winning pot on pink and Dodds sank the remaining two balls to win.
