A TEAM of intrepid ghost-hunters is planning an all-night vigil in a North Yorkshire tourist attraction, in a bid to track down the spirits which haunt it.
The Ghost Research Foundation International (GRFI) will take up residence in Mother Shipton's Cave, in Knaresborough, on July 6, in its mission to prove that the paranormal is very real indeed.
The team hopes to come face-to-face with some of the paranormal beings which are supposed to haunt the famous cave, possibly including Mother Shipton herself.
The GRFI's York-based "hauntings historian", Rachel Lacy, said: "The cave has been known for years as a place where very strange things happen."
The team of investigators will spend the whole night in the cave, and will use both traditional and modern methods to track ghosts.
Elizabeth Sayers, owner of the attraction, said she was "intrigued" by the visit.
"The cave attracts many mediums, who want to come and sense the vibrations that happen in the cave," she said.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing what they find. I might even join them!"
