BLACK Bull won the division four title after a tense finale in the title decider against Haxby Lions.
Dan Lindsey gave Black Bull the lead after 35 minutes and ten minutes into the second half added a second. Haxby, however, weren't going to give up their own chance of the title without a fight and when Ryan Foy pulled a goal back with 20 minutes left they knew one more would be enough. Despite some tremendous pressure Black Bull held out for victory.
Severus WMC rounded off their season with a 2-0 win at Wigginton courtesy of a goal in each half from Woodward. Wigginton now need to win their last match at New Earswick to claim the runners-up spot from Nestl Rowntree.
Acomb WMC finished in style with a 7-3 win against New Earswick, their third win in a row, courtesy of a hat-trick from Aide White, two for James Hewitson and one apiece for Neil Rankeillor and Andy Shield. Kev Deighton (2) and Paul Stimpson netted for Earswick.
New Earswick followed that defeat with a success at Hounds. Kev Deighton scored two more goals for the fourth game in succession, and James Vine scored in their 3-2 win with Forrest and Cygan replying.
It was a busy and topsy-turvy week for Thorpe Utd which started with a 2-1 win in division three at BH Colts thanks to a double from Fowler, Smith scoring for Colts.
They went down by the same scoreline at Copmanthorpe, Moore the scorer with Walker and Johanson netting the goals which secured third division football for the home side.
League duties then gave way to a Barkston Ash Cup Final which Thorpe were unfortunate to lose to FC Boston.
Finally Thorpe were able to celebrate as they carried off the title with a 2-0 win at Wilberfoss, Shane Singleton netting both goals.
Copmanthorpe followed their success on Thursday with a win over Nestl Flag, while Dalby hit both as Acomb SC kept their hopes of the second promotion spot alive with a 2-0 win over Otis Bar.
In division five Burnholme need victory in their last game to take top spot from Opticare who remained unbeaten after the rivals ground out a 0-0 draw. In a game of few chances Opticare were denied by a couple of stunning saves from Paul Emmell in the Burnholme goal.
