OAKGATE Group Plc, the development company with growing interests in North Yorkshire, has sold a retail portfolio to Cheval Properties Limited in a £12.4 million deal.
The money will help to fuel Oakgate's active property- buying campaign this year - a campaign which has seen the Wetherby-based company announcing developments at major sites in York
The sold properties in the portfolio were in Cambridge Street, Harrogate, where the tenants included The Link and Ainsley Bakers; Kingsoak House, King Street, South Shields, where tenants were Boots, Argos, JJB Sports and New Look; and North House, Eastbank Street, Southport, where the tenants included Superdrug and KFC.
Oakgate is the developer behind the £4 million redevelopment of the Stonegate Walk Arcade, York, into four major stores plus 19 luxury flats, and it is hoping to develop a 26 acre site to the south of Monks Cross retail park into a hi-tech office scheme.
