The battle for the runners-up spot in division one of the Leeper Hare York and District League is set to go down to the wire - with Osbaldwick and South Bank's match next week as the decider.
With Malton Bacon Factory already champions, Thorpe United grabbed a point in midweek in their last game of the season at Osbaldwick to go second, a point clear of the other two contenders.
However, with an inferior goal difference to Osbaldwick, Thorpe cannot finish second, no matter what the result in the big game next week.
But they are guaranteed third place - and a possible promotion spot should three teams be allowed to go up due to the resignation of premier division Boroughbridge.
Neil Richardson gave Osbaldwick a 21st-minute lead against Thorpe but they squandered chances and allowed United to grab a valuable leveller through Gavin Clamp with five minutes to go.
Osbaldwick stayed in touch at the top, though, as they thumped Norwich Union 7-1 on Saturday.
This set up the final game between South Bank and Osbaldwick next week.
Osbaldwick, with a superior goal difference, can afford to draw the game to finish in second place. South Bank need to win to jump from fourth to second.
Relegated Huby were minutes away from a win at home to one-time promotion candidates Post Office but a last-gasp equaliser from 'keeper Steve Kelly saved a point for The Postmen.
Dan Grainger and John Durrant (2) scored goals for Huby with Rich Dalby and James Bonarious also on target for Post Office.
Hammerton will join Huby in division two after going down 4-2 at home to Malton Bacon Factory.
Tom Oxtoby, Nigel Allen, Nick Cass and Simon Collins did the damage with goals from Richard Dwight and Richard Hart in Hammerton's reply.
Division two leaders Copmanthorpe overcame their recent drop in form to win 2-1 at home to Heslington.
The visitors threatened to throw a spanner in Cop's promotion works as they led at half time through a John Grady goal but two second half strikes from Mark Flood put the home side back on track.
After a midweek defeat at Copmanthorpe, Norton gave themselves hope of avoiding the drop with a last-gasp winner from Dean Readman over ten-man White Horse, while Barmby Moor are not yet safe after another defeat, this time by 2-1 at Fulford, although they were the better team for long periods.
Robby Pipe gave them the lead just after half time but strikes by Carl Hodgson and Jim Stewart won the game for Fulford.
Easingwold won their last game of the season at Stamford Bridge with first half goals from Richard Jennison and Tony Raper to ensure their second division survival.
Haxby & Wigginton dropped valuable points in a six-goal draw with Stillington, who came from behind twice in the first half with goals from Jim Inman (pen) and Andrew Bannerman, to take the lead with a 30-yard piledriver from Steve Johnson after the break.
Craig Parker had opened the scoring with a penalty for the Haxby-based side and Phil Kennedy netted their second, but it remained for Chris Dyson to equalise and save a point ten minutes from time.
In midweek, title contenders T&L Selby enjoyed wins at White Horse and Hamilton Panthers to move into third place in the table.
LNER Builders secured the division three title with a 2-1 win at lowly Marton-cum-Grafton, although the home side did not make things easy for them and were leading at the interval.
Jonathan Dean struck the equaliser ten minutes into the second half and, although Andy Green missed a penalty midway through the half, he made amends when he scored the winner with a 40-yard lob shot with 14 minutes left.
This followed a 4-1 midweek win at home to Hemingbrough when Jamie Williams (2) and Andy Green (2) were the goal scorers.
The second promotion place is still up for grabs with Poppleton holding it at the moment but they have completed their games.
Elvington Harriers came unstuck at Strensall where goals from Pipe, Brown and Smith won the game for the home side with Andy Foster managing one for the Harriers.
This let in Wilberfoss who won 2-1 at Hemingbrough. Ian Golden gave Hemingbrough a first half lead but Shaun Hodgson levelled and Mark Tomlinson hit the Wilberfoss winner five minutes from time. Wilberfoss now need to win their final game of the season to clinch promotion.
