YOUNGSTERS from a York dance group scooped a truckload of trophies with their fancy footwork at a recent competition.
The 32 members of the Clifton-based Kingswater Dance Group - a non-profit community group set up by local mums - won a total of 66 trophies at the contest, which was hosted by another dance group in Wales.
Every member of the group, which holds classes at Clifton Green Primary School for four to 17-year-olds, came away with at least one trophy at the event, which covered a number of styles from rock 'n' roll to disco.
The contest also saw ten mums from the group pick up a trophy each after taking to the floor themselves.
The victory has been a great boost to the group, which constantly struggles to raise funds to attend competitions.
Moya Wyatt, who helps to run the group along with Angie Cooper and leader Debbie Pallister, said: "We always struggle every year to raise money and this is what makes it all worthwhile."
