FOR quite a while now the Evening Press has been running a campaign to get the dangerous gap closed on the A64 at Bilbrough tops and quite rightly so.
But, from what I see, the Highways Agency is building another dangerous gap with traffic turning right across a busy dual carriageway on the A1036 near London Bridge garage. This is all work being done in conjunction with the new Copmanthorpe underpass and is at the end of the slip road from the A64.
If this is going to be a busy junction, a roundabout would have been safer here. A campaign of Don't Open The Gap may be an idea.
