WHY was Mrs S E Farmer of Doncaster surprised to find a lack of anti-hunt demonstrators in York last week (Letters, April 16)?
Does she not realise that most of us were actually at work earning the money that, in our tax contributions, will go to pay for the police escort she, and her cohorts had the privilege to be accompanied by?
Still, at least my work mates and I had a laugh as they trooped past our office. It's nice to know that street entertainment is alive and well in York.

...I SAW the protest march of the Countryside Alliance (Letters, April 16). I have two comments. There were far more people than on the Keep York City football demonstration and they were better behaved than the average York cyclist.
