ARMY bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion after a Second World War hand grenade was discovered in the back garden of a house in North Yorkshire.
Police were called to the house in Windsor Lane, Knaresborough, at about 7pm last night, when officers confirmed that the grenade was live.
The area was cordoned off and the military bomb disposal unit carried out a controlled explosion.
Nobody was injured and no property was damaged.
