Yorkshire County Cricket Club and England off-spinner Richard Dawson played in Yorkshire's practice match at Headingley yesterday after making a special request to do so, writes David Warner.
Dawson is currently on official leave after being part of England's Test squads in India and New Zealand during the winter but he asked Yorkshire this week if they was an opportunity for him to do some bowling.
"We were delighted to accommodate him and he will now play in Saturday's opening game of the season against Bradford-Leeds Universities at Headingley," said coach Arnie Sidebottom.
Meanwhile, Yorkshire have launched their new website in a joint venture with Leeds-based Firstnet Services Ltd.
Tony Panaro, the club's commercial director, said Yorkshire were the first county club to have a website when they went on-line in 1995 and this latest development would keep them to the forefront for the next five years at least.
More than 100,000 hits were posted on the old website over a 24-hour period when they won the County Championship last August
