WE have had the discussion about the state of York's toilets. Let's now think about the disgusting, filthy condition of some of the city's pavements.
I am thinking particularly of the bit of Pavement almost opposite Shambles - one of our most visited tourist attractions - and in front of the now defunct Poppins caf.
It seems to be covered in grease, and muck. When I read that Manpower is to hold a sale in their offices, above Poppins' caf for St Leonard's Hospice I felt like suggesting the pavement be cleared before the event.
