PICKERING Town beat Selby Town 3-1 at Flaxley Road last night in the long-awaited re-match between Northern Countiest East League premier division rivals.
The match had been postponed twice this season and when it finally got underway last night both sides wasted little time in setting about their task in a typical derby.
Jimmy Reid's men took the lead when Gavin Dickinson latched on to Dean MacAuley's through ball and rounded the keeper to score.
Within minutes the Robins were level when Peter Collier fired home, but Phil O'Reilly headed home to put Pickering back in the driving seat just before half-time.
Dickinson sealed the victory when he linked up with MacAuley again for his second of the night, while any hope of a Selby fightback ended when Pat Render was red-carded with ten minutes to go.
