AN ELDERLY woman died following a two-vehicle smash outside Stillington, near Easingwold.
The woman was in a white Rover 214 with her son and daughter travelling on the B1363 between Stillington and Sutton-on-the-Forest .
The Rover was in collision with a blue Renault Laguna, containing two people, at about 10.30am. Three ambulances attended, and all five occupants of the cars were taken to York District Hospital.
The woman died in the evening.
The stretch of road was still closed this morning so investigations could be carried out.
The names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.
