Dringhouses need seven points from their six remaining games to retain their Leeper Hare York and District League Reserve A title.
Old Malton are their biggest threat but they will have to win all their remaining nine games to have any chance.
In midweek, Dringhouses thumped Wigginton Black Horse, who took the lead through Julian Senior after twenty minutes.
Dringhouses equalised three minutes later and went on to win 6-1 with goals from Alan Smith (3), Wayne Carter and Nick Brown.
On Saturday, only an outstanding performance by New Earswick's 16-year-old goalkeeper Rob Mackenzie stopped Dringhouses scoring another big win.
After a scoreless, first half Wayne Carter put Dringhouses ahead. Adam Crask equalised and two minutes from time Nick Brown grabbed the winner for Dringhouses.
Dave O'Connor (2), Tim Furnell and Les Falkingham scored for Pocklington as they condemned Wigginton Black Horse to relegation with a 4-1 win. Graham Vickers scored for Black Horse.
Relegated Haxby Town suffered two heavy defeats in midweek, going down 5-0 at Huntington and 5-0 at home to Old Malton.
Mark Gambles hit four of Huntington's five goals. He opened the scoring after ten minutes, Ian Whittaker got the second five minutes later and Gambles then netted a second half hat-trick.
Dave Bradshaw hit a hat-trick for Old Malton and goals from Danny Cooper and Phil Hill completed the scoreline.
Haxby lost 8-0 on Saturday to Wigginton Grasshoppers, whose scorers were Craig Prangle, Chris Johnson, Steve Holt (2), Rob Murphy, Luke Roberts and Ben Coates.
Huntington's winning run came to an end as they lost 4-3 to St John's College.
Andy Stevens (2) and Andy Simpson put the students three up before Huntington hit back through Chris Dower, Ian Whittaker and Paul Jennings.
Dale Mordue scored the winner for the students in the last minute.
Phil Marwood netted ten minutes from time to give Old Malton a 1-0 win at South Bank.
