Hemingbrough, bottom of the table, scored a shock 2-1 win away to Leeper Hare York and District League division three high-fliers Elvington Harriers on Saturday.

Nigel Colley won a point for Elvington against his old club Wheldrake in their midweek derby. Simon Wheeler put Wheldrake ahead in the 70th minute and Colley equalised two minutes later.

Poppleton ended their season with a 4-2 win at home to Selby RSSC to move back to the top of the table.

But they are likely to be displaced as the three teams immediately below them - Elvington, LNER Builders - have two games remaining. Ben Lister, Matt Penistone and James Barratt (2) scored for Poppleton.

Moor Lane defied their lowly position to win 2-1 at home to LNER Builders. Mick Kenyon scored after 65 minutes. Ten minutes later Steve Smith spotted the Moor Lane goalkeeper off his line and scored from near the halfway line. Five minutes later Paul Jones left the Builders' defence standing and bagged winner.

Malton Bacon Factory clinched the Leeper Hare York and District League Reserve B title with two wins over Boroughbridge.

The first was 6-0 with goals from Jamie Ward, Wayne Pilmore , Nick Cass (2), Chris Bell and John Huberry, and the second 2-0 with goals from Des Craggs and Darren Grayson.

Copmanthorpe second string have beaten their senior team to the first silverware of the season as they clinched the Reserve C title with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, their nearest rivals. Paul Scurry scored after 25 minutes and Matt Pearson ten minutes later.

Stamford Bridge need to win their last game, at home to third-placed Heslington who won 2-1 at Wheldrake, to ensure promotion.
