RAILTRACK'S actions might prompt already keyed-up passengers into delivering a yet more forceful blow to Friends of the Earth's punch bag today. The York Station punch bag is an excellent way to demonstrate frustration at the Government's failure to improve the railways. Some rail staff might well join the queue to thump away their irritation.
With thousands left fuming over transport delays, perhaps this idea could be extended. A punch bag at every railway station, motorway services and airports could be the perfect way for people to safely vent their rail, road and plane rage.
