A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured when he was struck by a passing lorry.
The 64-year-old man, from Beverley, was in Railway Street, Malton, when he was involved in a collision with a skip wagon.
He was taken to York District Hospital after the accident, which happened at around 11.30am yesterday.
Sgt Mick Pounder, of Malton Police, said: "The skip lorry has been impounded and is under investigation at the moment."
A spokeswoman from the ambulance service said the man had serious facial injuries and a possible fractured skull.
His condition was today described as comfortable.
The injured man was struck by the door of the large Iveco skip wagon driven by James Spaven, 25, from Leeds.
