THE company which came into help York City FC's fans set up a Supporters' Trust is unable to offer York Wasps the same backing - but they are still willing to do what they can.
Supporters' Direct, the organisation which specifically works at setting up the Trusts in football club, admitted today that their hands were tied.
The company are funded by the Football Foundation - with money from the Pools Lottery levy - for the sole purpose of helping football clubs, however they can offer advise where they can.
Said Dave Boyle, from Supporters' Direct. "We can do what we can in an advisory role - and the first thing I would do is advise them to speak to the York City Supporters' Trust.
"We are also having a meeting in Wigan on Sunday, and this is open to football and rugby league clubs."
The meeting at the JJB Stadium, the home of Wigan Warriors, will start at 10am.
