A PATIENT escaped further injury after the ambulance transferring him from York District Hospital was in collision with a car.
The crash happened at a roundabout just yards from the hospital, at about 9am today.
Neither of the two ambulance staff were injured in the crash, described by North Yorkshire police as "a minor shunt".
A North Yorkshire Ambulance service spokeswoman confirmed that the patient - being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary for a procedure - was not further injured by the collision.
