IN a night of heavy metal and rock, York act Knee Deep "completely dominated" Heat Nine of Round One of the Fibbers/Evening Press Battle of the Bands 2002.
At Fibbers, in Stonebow, York, last night, Ross Shipley's new force on the York music scene emerged victorious, defeating Bradford four-piece Burst Rondo, who had the consolation of securing the Secret Panel vote. Anubia, from York, came third.
Event organiser Tim Hornsby said: "The heat was completely dominated by Knee Deep who, along with their fans, entered into the spirit of things with special T-shirts, the lot!"
Bands definitely through to the next round are Peachie, Manydown, Fadge, Busride, Morgan Four, Syncrownized, Sevenball, Fine Lines, Coma and now Knee Deep.
Flint, Chevron and 5 Finger Discount clash in Heat Ten next Wednesday when doors open at 7.30pm for the 8pm start and admission is £3, on the door only.
