TICKETS for this year's York Early Music Festival are now on sale, with organisers promising a special Spanish theme to celebrate the festival's 25th birthday.
A series of concerts will reflect the country's rich musical heritage, from the haunting refrains associated with medieval pilgrimages to the magnificence of the Golden Age of Spanish Music.
The festival, which this year runs from July 5 to 14, will also feature a series of illustrated talks and lectures on the life and loves of Spain, given by musicians and historians.
Programme details and tickets are available from the festival office at the National Centre for Early Music, in Walmgate, on 01904 658338, or via email, boxoffice@yorkearlymusic.org.uk
