Acomb Hockey Club brought the curtain down on a highly successful season when their first and second teams clashed at Oaklands Sports Centre.
The firsts won 3-0 with goals from Adrian Nye, Stuart Baxter and David Richardson. But there was an air of all-round celebration as both teams had already been promoted from Yorkshire League divisions two and ten respectively, while Acomb Ladies II may make it a promotion treble if they win their last game in Yorkshire League division one.
The men's first team claimed the scalps of Wakefield and Adel on their way to the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Cup where they lost to Rotherham.
The second team have now won promotion for three successive seasons and have been champions of their league for two years running with the best defensive record in all the Yorkshire Leagues. They only conceded 21 goals in their 20 league matches, of which 16 were won and one drawn, scoring 95 goals.
The first team won 15 of their 22 league games and were beaten just five times.
Acomb Ladies I finished fourth in division six, narrowly missing out on promotion.
Secretary David Quarrie said: "We have playing members in both sections from an age range of 16 to 56 but we would like to have many more playing members.
"We also play indoor and summer league hockey and do evening training at Oaklands."
