Pocklington's inexperience told as they were overwhelmed by 60-6 at home to Selby.
Selby opened the scoring with an early drop goal by full-back Mark Taylor before Pocklington equalised in similar manner from Dan Clappison.
But Selby then took control to run in three tries, two converted, and though Clappison added his second penalty to make it 22-6 at the break, Pocklington, bottom of Yorkshire One, were always on the back foot.
Pocklington's youngsters, three of the side were teenagers and another three just 20 years of age, were unable to cope with Selby's extra muscle and the visitors cut loose in the latter stages to pull away.
Selby's back row brothers Duncan and Wright Phillips and elusive scrum-half Matthew Smith both scored two tries each in what turned out to be a one-sided affair.
The result leaves Pocklington anchored at the bottom but they have an opportunity of moving up next week when they travel to fellow strugglers West Park Bramhope, who were beaten 22-5 at Scarborough on Saturday.
The Seasiders hopes of promotion behind champions Hull received a big blow when star stand-off Marcus Edwards was taken off on a stretcher after 30 minutes with a knee injury.
Scarborough's tries came from Ian Atkinson and Bill Freeman.
