FORMER York City striker John Williams may have to settle for a place on the bench against his old club at Vetch Field tomorrow, writes Dave Stanford.
The Swansea striker played a starring role as the Welsh outfit, then under the managership of another former City striker, Colin Addison, beat the Minstermen 2-0 at Bootham Crescent back in November.
However, with Addison now gone and Nick Cusack and Roger Freestone now caretaker playing-bosses, Williams and former Scarborough favourite Steve Brodie have recently been relegated to the bench.
Goalkeeper Freestone could also be recalled between the posts at the expense of youngster Jason Jones.
Swansea skipper Kris O'Leary is a doubt having fallen sick prior to Monday's game.
Meanwhile former Wales boss Bobby Gould has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant managerial job at Third Division strugglers.
