BACK-to-back birdies have breathed new life into the challenge of North Yorkshire ace Simon Dyson at the Algarve Portuguese Open in Faro.
Dyson was one of 66 golfers unable to complete their first round yesterday as high winds and then bad light forced a suspension of play.
But having gone round the first ten holes yesterday in two-over-par, the Malton and Norton golfer dropped a further four shots this morning.
A quick turn around saw Dyson back out for his second round and although he did bogey the third, he bounced back for birdies at the fifth and sixth to leave him at five-over after 24 holes.
And, with a number of leading players struggling to break par over this difficult course, Dyson still could make the final two rounds.
