TEENAGER Stuart Wise is poised for his first start in the heart of York City's defence against Swansea City tomorrow.
The 17-year-old (pictured left) came on as a substitute for the injured Matt Hocking during Easter Monday's 1-0 victory over Oxford United.
With Hocking ruled out with a groin and stomach strain, the pacy Wise keeps his place for the trip to South Wales.
City have a doubt about left wing-back Graham Potter, who has a hamstring strain but midfielder Stephen Brackstone has been declared fit and is included in the party of 17.
Another hamstring victim, leading scorer Michael Proctor, returns to the squad but it is not clear if he will start at Swansea.
Centre back Mike Basham underwent surgery on his damaged ankle yesterday and although is reported to be "groggy" the operation went well and is expected to be back in time for pre-season training.
Goalkeeper John Collinson will be drafted into the squad for next Tuesday's game against Carlisle as Russ Howarth will be on England Under-20 duty.
It has been confirmed City skipper Chris Brass will be suspended for the Minstermen's last two games of the season.
Brass picked up his tenth booking of the season in the 1-0 win over Oxford, meaning he will banned for the home game with Bristol Rovers on April 16 and the match at Scunthorpe on April 20.
Although there was an amnesty in February for players with four or less bookings, the amnesty for ten bookings does not come into effect until the second Sunday in April.
The saving grace for City is the fact the Bristol Rovers game is a rearranged tie ensures Brass will be available for the first game of next season.
