DRAX Ladies scored a surprise 6-3 home win over York RI in Ladies division one of the York Badminton League.
Julie Smyth and Gayle Bradley took the vital Drax maximum which included an 8-15 15-2 15-5 over Sarah Thompson and Joy Wilson, who took two RI wins.
The University Students completed an 8-1 win at Riverside in men's division one. Russell Binns and Nick Burton were the pick of the Student pairs with three wins for 90-25. Craig Dobson and Ian McKinlay picked up the consolation with a 6 and 3 win over Ben Tilley and Simon Taylor.
IT Sports scored a 9-0 home win over Shepherds with Saf Grey and Stuart Fieldhouse notching up three straight wins for 90-33.
University Students 'B' won the battle of the students in men's two after a 5-4 home win over St Johns. Sam Gardner and Dave Bloomfield took the match-winning maximum for a total of 99-63, including a 9-15 15-8 15-13 over George Noble and Liam Whittington.
John Formby and John Prickett's three wins for 92-46 helped Drax 'B' to a 6-3 home win over Clifton 'B' in mixed three. They were well supported by Andrew Dunning and Adam Prescott who had a tougher time recording three Drax wins for 119-96.
Pocklington recorded an 8-1 home over York. Father and son Mark and Mat Burrows took the eye with three straight wins for 90-26, while Eng Kiat Lim and D Vaswan took the University consolation with a 15-10 10-15 15-10 victory over D Rastall and H Johnson.
Drax 'A' used home advantage to beat Clifton 'A' 8-1 in mixed division one. Scott Anderson and Gayle Bradley were the best Drax pair with three straight wins for 90-56.
Selby 77 continued their improvement in form with a 6-3 success at Knavesmire 'A' in mixed two. Dave Hearn and Alison Dinsdale were outstanding for Selby with three wins for 103-81, including a 15-12 8-15 15-10 win over Dave Brogden and Joy Wilson, who won twice for Knavesmire.
Clifton 'C' scored a surprise 5-4 win at second-placed Easingwold in mixed three with the match going down to the final rubber in which Kate Wilson and Simon Christian beat Michael and Julie Hourston 3 and 10.
Fulfordgate 'A' and RI Tuesday/Thursday 'B' fought out reverse fixtures in mixed four, each club winning 5-4, while playing away at their opponents' venue. Most consistent pairing in both matches were Maureen Medlar and Matt Hobman who took six wins from six rubber for a two-match total of 203-149.
Huntington 'B' continued their push for promotion to division four with a 5-4 away win over Drax 'E'. John Deighton and Carolyn Arden did the damage with three straight wins for 90-34, including a 6 and 5 win over J Wheeler and Steph Bevan.
Selby Jubilee 'C' visited Middlethorpe and won 7-2 in mixed division six. Lynne Dawson and Franni Millosojevic headed the Jubilee averages with three wins for 90-55, including a tough 11 and 13 over Geoff Deighton and Georgina Mackenzie.
