FIREFIGHTERS spent more than five hours tackling a blaze on the North York Moors.
Gorse and scrubland were well alight when fire crews arrived at the scene at Fenmoor, near Lockton, north of Pickering, at around 3.30pm yesterday.
Fire spokesman Terry Glover said at one point more than 30 firefighters were tackling a 400m fire front as the flames were fanned by strong winds.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
