TONIGHT'S matches, the last of the York White Rose Ladies League season, will decide all three divisional titles.
The chips are down for Fulfordgate and Sun, who play each other for the division one championship.
To retain the title Fulfordgate must win 5-2 at least after failing to hold Collingwood. Marion Stilgoe put Fulfordgate 3-2 up but Irene Bowes levelled and Astrid Tute took a tense decider.
Good games from Maureen Tindall then Janet Parker (24) guided Institute to a 4-3 victory over New York, while Michelle Harrison, Maureen Lodge then Moira Atkinson won the last three for Fulford Conservatives to pip Crescent 4-3.
Four teams are in contention for division two honours.
Coach lead by one point. Maggie Adamson put them 4-1 up but Coach let the last two escape to Tap's Margaret Turvey and Sylvia Quinn.
Pat Drake starred with 23 darts in Bumper's 5-2 win at Nags Head, while Six Bells lost ground at Clarence when Jayne Cain collected the decider.
Winning Post won 5-2 against Palace, who had a fine 24 darter from Jan Welby.
Huntington lead division three by two points but had their vulnerability exposed by Alice Hawthorne, who went to a 5-2 victory with steady wins by Yvonne Aplin, Audrey and Debbie Horner.
King William still have a chance following a 5-2 win over Lord Nelson, and so do Tankard as a result of their 5-2 victory over Bay Horse.
York John Smith's Ladies League hold their competition finals tonight at Clarence WMC.
Tracey Farmeary is on the last leg of her journey to retaining the Individual title.
A 2-0 semi-final win over Golden Slipper's Anita Weatherstone puts the Phoenix 'B' 'young gun' up against seasoned campaigner Anne Bass, who has held the trophy on three occasions.
Bass (Cygnet) took a narrow 2-1 result against Clifton's Jo Hodges.
Bass also teams up with Dawn Exton to oppose Julie Ashton-Tina Platt (Nags Head) in the Captain-Vice Captain event, while the Pairs' final between Angie Hields-Sue Smith (Phoenix 'B') and Michelle Britton-Karen Richardson (Brigadier) promises to be a cracker.
Nags Head, comprising Tina Platt, Sue Turpin and Dot Dykes, somewhat surprisingly nudged Brigadier out of the Triples and meet Bev Harton, Angie Hields and Carole Pipes (Phoenix 'B').
Sue Smith-Liz Powell made it to the Elsie Bell Memorial event final and play Michelle Britton-Sue Tate.
