THE walks printed by the Evening Press on a Saturday night are very enjoyable but George Wilkinson missed a treat in his walk in Captain Cook Country (March 9).
By taking an entertaining little diversion down the Cleveland Way into the pretty little village of Kildale, you can call in at Glebe Cottage, which is a little walkers' tea room serving wicked home-made cakes and excellent meals.
Doing this little extension also makes the walk six miles rather than four (worth putting on your boots for!)
The Evening Press has a duty to do all it can to promote small enterprises such as this one after foot and mouth devastated our rural economy like it did.
It is no use just mentioning obvious places in Great Ayton which will get its fair slice of trade anyway. It's little treasures off the beaten track that George and Victoria should be tracking down!
