THE boardroom and offices of the York Wasps have been cleared out, with all the assets put into storage.
Memorabilia, photographs, trophies and strips were removed after the club folded on Tuesday following the collapse of the proposed take-over, and have been stored until the legal matter is resolved.
Former vice-chairman Russell Greenfield explained that these items were assets of the company but, as that company has folded, were being stored until either a buyer or receivers came in.
"Whoever owns the existing company owns the assets," he said. "At the moment the old shareholders own that. They now go into storage. If anybody buys out the company they would receive these assets."
If receivers were to come in, they would take control of the assets and probably sell them to pay off what debts they could.
"When the company is finally wrapped up - and we hope it doesn't come to that - the assets would be offered to whoever was interested," said Greenfield, one of four directors who all resigned on Monday. "The obvious people they would sell them to would be the supporters' trust."
He added: "The club has stopped trading and we are sticking strictly within the limitations of the law.
"We want this club to rise up from the ashes and we want a supporters' trust to be able to find somebody to restart the club. We will back any new consortium to get this club off the ground.
"We want the club to keep playing but as custodians of the existing company we are sticking to the law. Every asset is being stored until the matter is sorted out."
