FORMER members of North Yorkshire regiment the Green Howards are reuniting to celebrate a special anniversary.
More than 200 former officers and soldiers of the regiment's 2nd Battalion are meeting up to celebrate a half century since the battalion was re-formed for the fourth time in April 1952. It was originally raised in 1689.
Most of those who served with the Battalion from 1952 to 1956 in Suez and Cyprus were National Servicemen, who are now in their sixties and seventies.
The reunion, in Darlington on April 6, will include a lunch and a dance in the evening.
