A STAR of the small screen is to make a special appearance at a North Yorkshire event.
A life-size replica of a horse, which has made several appearances in the Yorkshire Television soap Emmerdale, is one of the lots in an auction being held at The Village Hall in Huby, near York, on April 13.
Auctioneers and valuers Summersgills, of Front Street, Acomb, York, have been asked by the TV company to sell the beast, which was used in the programme as the symbol of Lady Tara's stud at Home Farm.
"We have sold some unusual things before, but this is as different as it gets," said auctioneer Tim Summersgill.
"I've only done a bit of riding, but at least this one won't get away!"
The horse will be incorporated into the auction of antiques and collectors' items, which will also include Georgian and Victorian furniture, several items by Robert Thompson, the "Mouseman" of Kilburn, Moorcroft ceramics, silver; old toys, and writing and tea boxes.
