A £135,000 handout of Government cash has been awarded for a makeover of a York travellers' site.
The Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions has also given nearly £15,000 to improve facilities in North Yorkshire. It is part of a Government scheme to improve 57 sites across the country.
Housing Minister Sally Keeble said: "This injection of funding will help local authorities extend the useful life of sites, bring them into full use and improve the quality of life for residents."
The cash will be used largely for modernisation work such as improving drainage systems.
The York site is in Water Lane, Clifton.
In North Yorkshire, £5,482 will be spent on Burn Airfield, near Selby, while £9,325 will be used on the site at Stokesley.
